What we collect

budgetyour.finance does not require an account. Budget entries are stored in your browser using IndexedDB and local storage. They are not sent to our servers.

If you use the Contact page, we receive the email address and message you submit so we can respond. Messages are sent through our email provider and are normally deleted within 12 months, unless a longer period is needed for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics is off by default. It loads only if you choose Allow in the analytics notice. It may collect pages visited, approximate location, browser and device information, referring pages, and analytics identifiers. It does not receive your budget entries.

We use analytics only to understand and improve the site. Our legal basis is your consent. You can change your choice at any time using Analytics choices in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics on this site and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies. Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months; aggregated reports may be kept longer.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Analytics consent: local storage remembers your choice for six months.
  • Google Analytics cookies: used only after consent.
  • captcha_hmac: a strictly necessary, HttpOnly and Secure cookie used for the Contact form’s arithmetic challenge; it expires after ten minutes.
  • Budget storage: IndexedDB and local storage keep your budgets on your device.

Service providers

Google Cloud hosts the site, Google Analytics provides optional analytics, and an email provider delivers Contact messages. These providers may process technical or contact information on our behalf. Where required, international transfers use appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

Your budget entries stay in your browser. If you contact us, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. You can ask us to correct or delete that contact information through the Contact page. You can withdraw analytics consent through Analytics choices in the app footer.

We will update this page when our data practices or legal requirements change. The date above shows when it was last revised.
